Villages By The Sea Returns To BBC Two

Villages by the Sea returns on BBC Two for a third series with ten new episodes, following the success of the last series in 2021.

Archaeologist Ben Robinson will investigate the landscape, streets and buildings of seaside villages to reveal their surprising histories from Ravenglass in the Lake District to Tintagel on the Cornish coast.

The series will see Ben uncovering surprises about some of our best loved seaside villages and unravelling mysteries all around the coast from the Lakes to the Isle of Man down to Norfolk and Cornwall.

In Tintagel, a village gem on the wild Cornish coast, Ben will discover how the legend of King Arthur has shaped the fortunes of the village over centuries and in the Lake District he’ll search for evidence of the Roman origins of the coastal village of Ravenglass. Local people and national experts will help Ben discover secret tunnels, hidden clues and piece together the stories that put our villages on the front line of history

Villages by the Sea has been produced for BBC Two by Purple Productions. The new series is likely to air later this year.
