WORK EXPERIENCE AND INITIATIVES

Edinburgh TV Festival TV Foundation Class Confident
Purple Productions is a founding member of the TV Foundation’s Class Confident, a class and social equality working group that are innovating and leading the cultural shift we need to make the TV industry class confident.

Work Experience Scheme through Salford University
Salford University offer its students a placement within the media industry as part of their degree. Purple Productions work with the team at Salford University to deliver a two week programme that covers all areas of television production which give students further insight into the industry and helps them with their further education.

ScreenSkills Training Programme
Mission Accomplished and ScreenSkills’ Unscripted Development Researcher training programme offers new talent the opportunity to train in development, before taking a one-month industry placement with a production company. The programme and placement are supported by the ScreenSkills Unscripted TV Skills Fund which invests in training for the unscripted workforce.
"We are thrilled to collaborate with Purple Productions on our Industry Placement scheme. This partnership provides our BBC production apprentices with invaluable opportunities to gain hands-on experience, expand their professional networks, and enhance their career prospects. Working alongside industry experts at OMG allows our apprentices to further develop their skills in a new, dynamic and supportive environment, ensuring they are well-prepared for future roles in the media industry."
- LEWIS SMITH, EARLY CAREERS SCHEMES ADVISOR, BBC
"Industry is at the heart of this MA and we bring industry into the classroom as much as we can. The work experience at Purple is a fantastic opportunity for our students - getting them ready for that first job in industry. The fact that they can come back for lessons during the week means that they are able to get invaluable experience while attending the course."
- MAIRE TRACEY, SENIOR LECTURER IN MEDIA PRACTICE, UNIVERSITY OF SALFORD
